Come On Down & Explore This Week’s Free Image!

This week’s Free Image may require a closer look. What may at first appear to be ribbons, or an abstract piece of art, is actually the Antelope Canyon near Page, Arizona. The canyon is one of the most visited and (thus) most photographed canyons in the American Southwest.

This image, by contributor Kushnirov Avraham, is an exciting burst of colors that may even inspire you to take a peek in person for yourself. The reflection of sunlight off the walls of the canyon creates the colorful lighting effect shown here. For travelers and tourists, the best views of these effects are Mid-March through Mid-September.

They say that it’s good luck when a ladybug lands on you. Try telling that to an aphid. Yes, though beautiful, the average ladybug eats around 5,000 aphids and other plant-eating insects over the course of its lifetime. This makes the ladybug a welcome addition to farms and gardens everywhere.
