This Week’s Free Image raises a glass to a … multipurpose beverage.

Like most people in New York City, I had a cold last week. Sniffles, cough, headache … your basic Nyquil commercial. On Friday, Day Five of my cold, I got a text message from a friend asking if I wanted to meet for Happy Hour. The bar was luckily across the street from my apartment, so I thought “why not?” When I arrived, she told me that she had a time-tested solution to help me get over my cold: Whiskey. Yes, the same beverage featured in This Week’s Free Image by Sosnitskiy Evgen.

Now, I’d heard of Hot Toddy’s before, but just straight whiskey? Our Australian bartender confirmed, “Yeah, whiskey will clean ya right out.” She then offered me a glass of it and said, “Here, put another shrimp on the barbie!” (Fine, she didn’t say that, but it would’ve been cool if she had.) Though I can’t say the whiskey got rid of my cold, it certainly helped me to forget about it for a couple of hours.

So, take from that story what you will, especially since I’m still sick. Or, just go the route of TV’s Mad Men and download it for creative inspiration. (They’re always drinking on that show.) Don Draper would be proud. Besides, it’s free!
