Known Image Restrictions

The list below displays problem words that we need to pay extra attention to. In most cases, we are not allowed to use these words within the image metadata. Often, we can use an image as Editorial only, but not as a standard license image.

Tip:	Generally: Items on this list should be declined if they are isolated or artwork. If they are or the main subject of the image, they CAN be marked as Editorial Use if they are newsworthy.	Generally Editorial shots must be considered "newsworthy" and have a caption that tells the event details: people pictured, name of the event, date and location. Typically editorial shots are newsworthy, such as celebrities at an event, an auto show, or a special event. However, even something mundane such as a person using a Blackberry can be newsworthy if it becomes a news topic, or an Adidas store could be OK, and used if Adidas company was in the news.

3D Interior Renderings At this time, we are no longer accepting images of 3D interior renderings. We have noticed some of these designs contain elements based on wire-frame models from third-party sources. Artists who upload these images could be exposing themselves to legal issues. Our advice is to focus your attention on creating images and illustrations from scratch that do not rely on outside elements. Airshows Images of Airshows can only be accepted as editorial. Airstream The word 'Airstream' and the design of the campers are both trademarked.	No commercial use is permitted under any circumstance. American Museum of Natural History (AMNH) Located in New York City. Photography for personal use is allowed. Tripods and lights may not be used.	Sale of photographs or reproductions are not allowed without Museum permission.
Android (electronics) The Android logo is trademarked and cannot be used.	No commercial use is permitted under any circumstance, including illustrations. Atomium The Atomium is a large structure model of an iron molecule located in Brussels, Belgium. Both the name and the structure are protected by copyright.
