The photos and illustrations on Bigstock are provided by professional photographers artists and talented hobbyists from around the globe.

BigStockPhoto was founded the fall of 2004 in Davis, California, by Tim Donahue and Dawn Donahue. In 2009 BigStockPhoto was acquired by Shutterstock, based in New York, which operates the biggest subscription-based image library in the world. BigStockPhoto adopted a fresh new look and a shorter name, Bigstock, in 2010.
