My name is Matt Jordan, but I go by MJ. I've been a semi-professional photographer for the last three years and a digital artist for much longer. While it's not my main occupation, I do spend nearly as much time shooting/editing/creating. It's become a creative outlet and brings in a little additional income. Beyond that, I get to work with some phenomenal
industry talent (other photographers, models, make-up artists, hair stylists, etc.). Not surprisingly, I prefer doing this to my day job and I'd love to find a way to make it a full-time gig.
I originally started this as a hobby because I needed more raw photos for my digital art. As many can tell you, it's addictive. After shooting landscapes for awhile, I moved to people. In fact, most of my career work has been in the modeling industry. That, of course, paved the way to portraiture and weddings, but I still prefer shooting models. You will see more of my people-oriented photos appear here as I sort through the model release process.
Obviously, selling some of my work as stock seemed the next logical step in the evolution of a career; so, here I am. I don't expect to make a living on the commissions. Rather, I'm hoping for broad exposure and credibility in the industry. Sites like Big Stock Photo make that possible for up-comers like myself.
Thanks again for viewing my bio and I wish you the best of luck in all your creative endeavors. Feel free to send me an e-mail through my website at www.mjphototacoma.com if you need specific images or would like to use my contract services.
